Uncontested Divorce
An uncontested divorce saves you time and money. You can apply on your own for a simple divorce or jointly with your spouse. We help you arrange the divorce or respond if your spouse applies.
Here's how it works:
- You and your spouse discuss your issues, such as parenting, support and property. You can ask a lawyer, family member or friend to assist.
- You agree on all the issues.
- We explain the law and advise you every step of the way.
- You and/or your spouse apply for a divorce. Filing jointly is quicker.
- We help with paperwork and ensure documents are served on time.
When you alone apply, you serve your claim on your spouse and they respond. They can dispute your claim or file their own, consent to divorce and request to be served with all your documents or do nothing while the divorce is granted.
Filing jointly with your spouse is quicker. No need to serve documents because you have agreed to divorce. As long as you have been separated for at least a year and both agree, your divorce is normally granted.
